Tasks and Responsibilities

Cybersecurity and Risk Management (30%):

  • Act as the primary point of contact and oversee the relationship with Oxfam’s Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP).
  • Proactively monitor, investigate, and resolve cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
  • Lead the incident response process, ensuring thorough investigation and remediation in collaboration with other senior IT leaders.
  • Maintain and enforce security compliance policies, manage security infrastructure (firewalls, VPNs), and conduct regular vulnerability scans.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

Infrastructure Management (30%):

  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including network devices, servers, and backup systems.
  • Administer the Microsoft O365 environment and endpoint protection systems.
  • Assess, implement, and optimize Audio-Visual (AV) equipment to ensure seamless hybrid meeting experiences.
  • Ensure high-quality system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with Oxfam’s global IT team on infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a strategic infrastructure roadmap for future needs.

Helpdesk Staff Management and Technical Support (30%):

  • Lead and manage the helpdesk team, ensuring the delivery of timely and efficient technical support to all staff.
  • Oversee the ticket management system, provide escalation support for complex issues, and ensure team adherence to IT policies.
  • Optimize end-user tools and applications and manage user account provisioning and de-provisioning.

Procurement and Asset Management (10%):

  • Lead the assessment, selection, and procurement of IT hardware and software for new hires and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with key vendors to negotiate quotes and contracts and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets.

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted.
  • Preferred Certifications: Professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure, Cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM), or ITIL are highly preferred and will strengthen an application.

Experience:

  • minimum of 5 years of professional experience in combined IT infrastructure and cybersecurity roles is mandatory.
  • This experience must include proven experience in team leadership or vendor management.
  • Required Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of networking principles, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet), endpoint protection, cloud services (O365, Azure), and mobile device management (MDM).
  • Hands-on experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and conference room AV systems.
  • Proven experience in creating IT policy and procedural documentation and leading technology system implementations.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience supporting a non-profit, advocacy, or international development organization is a significant advantage. Experience with various cloud platforms (AWS, PaaS, SaaS) and a solid understanding of privacy laws (GDPR) is also highly desirable.
