Tasks and Key Responsibilities

Procurement Associate (NPSA-7) – Home-Based

  • Procurement Administration: Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of procurement processes across UN Women’s Business Units, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and sustainable practices
  • Plan Implementation: Assist in the preparation and implementation of procurement plans for projects and operations, maintaining compliance with UN Women procurement policies
  • Market Research: Conduct research to support procurement strategy development, tender evaluation processes, and contract management activities
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate collaboration between UN Women operations teams, project staff, and external suppliers to ensure efficient procurement processes
  • Digital Procurement: Implement and optimize e-procurement tools and strategies to achieve best value for money while promoting transparency
  • Capacity Building: Organize procurement knowledge-building initiatives for staff and suppliers, contributing to organizational learning
  • Process Improvement: Support business process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Minimum Requirement: Secondary education certificate is required
  • Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields
  • Professional Certification: CIPS Level 3 or other recognized procurement certification is considered a strong asset

Experience

  • Core Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement or relevant operations roles
  • International Exposure: Experience in international organizations, UN agencies, or similar multilateral institutions is advantageous
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern ERP systems (particularly Oracle Cloud) and Microsoft Office applications
  • Sector Knowledge: Understanding of gender equality issues and sustainable procurement practices is beneficial
